Deuteronomy 20:4
“For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.”
To think we will not a walk a day in our lives on Earth without problems is delusional. No one is exempt from having dilemmas and obstacles. Times you just feel you just can’t catch a break. Everything is going left when you trying to go right. You begin to start asking God the question we all have asked in our time of desperation. “Why God is this happening to me?”
That little voice in your head then tells you to just give up.
“Im not good enough.”
“They are so right. My business will never be successful.”
“I give up. Nothing ever goes right for me.”
“I want a divorce.”
You start to think whatever you’re up against is stronger than you. It’s pointless to keep treading through the mud if you keep stepping in quicksand. Take a step and sink. Take another step and sink even lower. Reaching out for someone to pull you out! And there is no one there to take your hand.
I’m here to tell you right now we have been fighting our battles all wrong.
See, when you are looking at those brick walls like they won’t ever fall. When you come to a complete stop at that speed bump and turn your car completely off. When you fall down and refuse to get up…..you are fighting from a place of defeat. You mind as well just get out the ring. Take your gloves off. Looks like another TKO!
God has made us the promise that he will fight our battles. He has said he will fight and give us victory. So, why are you giving up? Victory is already yours! When you have unshakeable faith, you already know you are a conqueror. You already know that what you are going through is a small delay from the plethora of blessings God has bestowed on your life!
This is when faith comes in! You have to see yourself when this storm is over. Envision yourself coming out on the other side! Clothes and hair drenched from the rain. Your umbrella has holes in it from the strong wind trying to topple you over! That is how you are seeing yourself at this moment. Now, see yourself walking with a smile on your beautiful face. Walking in that everlasting peace that God has made for us.
When you fight from a place of victory you see the other side. You don’t dwell on this temporary hurdle. You praise without ceasing to our Holy Father. Words of doubt and despair won’t even leave your lips. Give God his hallelujah’s through the downpour of troubling times. He is right there with you holding your hand through it. Give him the praise for not leaving you. Bless his name for carrying you through! Fight like the battle is already won!
What does it look like when you don’t have to worry because God is right beside you through any adversity? What does it look like when God’s strength is pefect in your weakness? 2 Corinthians 12:9-10
You have an upright posture in your heart that will keep you centered in God’s word. Your heart will keep you concentrating on the Holy Trinity, therefore your head will follow. Your actions will cause your faith, patience, and hope to be steadfast. So much so, that you will walk through the cyclone unharmed. You will come out of the storm with not a drop of rain on you! You are so committed to living in His word, that you don’t even look down. You keep moving forward and you WILL come out sharing your testimony with others. Helping others to get closer to Jesus.
That is what it looks like to fight from a place of victory!
Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. Psalm 30:5
Do not be weary. Do not walk in defeat my friend. Stand upright and walk with the fact that the gospel is real. And you will always have the victory.
