You Deserve To Be Loved

There is a woman I know that we will just call Bethany. I have known Bethany for years and she is a God fearing, hardworking woman. Her career as an accountant for a health corporation has given her a stable life. Beautiful home, Lexus in the driveway, and Louis Vuitton bags hanging floor to ceiling in her closet. Miss Bethany has it going on. A woman in her early 40’s, no children, and just living her life.

Everything in her life is on point except for that love life. I could write for days about the boyfriends she has had over the last few years. I will just give you a couple of examples. Bryan is the one that was handsome as Micheal Ealy. He had those same enticing eyes! She was entranced by those eyes and muscles so much that he used her for thousands of dollars. He wanted to start a trucking business. Long story short all the money went directly into his pockets. And left Bethany to run and marry another woman! She gave her all with that one. Many nights spent crying over this man!

She decided to switch it up a little with Dayvon. He was a little rough behind the edges. He had two young kids by two different women. She helped him pay his back child support down. You would think he would be grateful to Bethany, but he was the total opposite. He would tell her how she should be grateful. A man like him would even be with a woman like her. His words would cut her so deep. Everything she did for him was just not good enough. She would rush home after work to cook and make sure the house was spotless before he made it home. Help him take care of HIS kids every other weekend. Bethany would buy them everything they needed. And they both had their own bedroom in HER home. Dayvon would still find something to complain about.

After both of these breakups and getting back into her Bible; we began to talk about God’s love. She opened up to me about how she felt unworthy to be loved. I told her God teaches how we should be loved in the Bible. Jesus blessed us in his time on Earth to show us how we are supposed to treat one another.

Let’s go over some Bible verses about how we are supposed to love each other.

  • Romans 12:10 “Honor one another.”
  • James 1:19 “Be quick to listen, slow to speak.”
  • Ephesians 4:32 “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving of each other”
  • Hebrews 3:13 “Encourage one another daily.”
  • Ephesians 4:25 “Speak truthfully.”
  • Ephesians 4:2 “Be completely humble and gentle, be patient, bearing one another with love.”
  • Colissians 3:13 “Forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another.”
  • Gallatians 5:13 “Serve one another”

We all deserve to be loved this way. Each and everyone of us is worthy of this love. The devoted word of God that holds all truth says you are supposed to be loved this way. Yes you are worthy of all of this! Once you embrace and feel God’s love; you will not settle for anything else!
