Praying For A Breakthrough!

How many of you are praying to God for a breakthrough? My definition of a breakthrough is when God already has your problem solved and he shows it to you. It’s all in the mental. The breakthrough comes when you are going through it and God shows you the other side..” It is a sudden, dramatic advancement or development.  A divine intervention for you to keep trusting in God because his word never fails.

The Power of Prayer

And what helps you see that breakthrough? The power of prayer! Prayer sheds light on the concept of breaking through barriers or obstacles in faith. When you are kneeling and praying to God, you are showing Him your faith will not be shaken. No matter the hurdles, your faith is steadfast.

In Mark 11:22-23, where He says, “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.” That is the power of faith.

The word “Breakthrough” in Mark 11:22-23 can be further explored through the original Greek word “διακοπή” (diakopé), which can also be translated as “interruption” or “obstruction.” He is interrupting the season of fear, disappointment, and pain with a vision for you to see your breakthrough is coming. This is when prayer comes in.

Prayer that is not heartfelt and no faith is a waste of time. If do not have any faith in what you are saying, God is not going to give you that breakthrough. You will not receive the step forward you are praying for. When we pray for an awakening, we must have unwavering faith in God’s ability to move mountains in our lives. You can not only move a mountain, you can tell it where to go!

In Joshua 6, the Israelites experience a breakthrough when the walls of Jericho come tumbling down after they follow God’s instructions. Doing things God’s way and having that faith will lead to the advancement every single time. Hebrews 11:30 mentions how the walls of Jericho fell down by faith, emphasizing the role of faith in achieving breakthroughs. This verse underscores the connection between faith and breakthroughs in the Christian walk.

The Importance of Persistence

Paul wrote to the members of the Church that he founded in Thessalonica. He wrote 5 chapters. In the 5th chapter, he addresses how they need to respect their leaders. He also gives various other instructions for Christian living. One of those instructions were to pray continuously.

Fair weather friends come and go. I know we all get so annoyed with those people who you see when they need you. And if you need them they are no where to be found. Just flaky and unreliable. So, why are you being a fair weather friend to God? God wants you to continuously pray to Him. You can’t just pray one time and then don’t pray again for six months. You can’t be God’s fair weather friend!

Your praise and prayers have to be never ceasing. Always on your lips should be prayers of thanksgiving and asking for that breakthrough you need. Don’t expect God to show you how to get to the light at the end of the tunnel. He doesn’t even know who you are.

Surrender

Surrendering our desires and plans to God’s will opens the door for Him to work miracles in our lives. Yes we have free will to choose whatever we want to do, but our will often is not God’s will. As they say; let Jesus take the wheel. Scoot over and let God drive!

Luke 9:23 And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.”

The meaning of this scripture is to totally surrender yourself to the most high, our Father. You are telling God:

Not my thoughts God but yours.”

Not my ways God but yours.”

Not my decisions God but yours.”

“Not my will God but yours.”

Let us remember that praying for a breakthrough requires faith, persistence, and surrender. Let us hold fast to the promise in Mark 11:24 that “whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”
